Josh Kreisler
J.D candidate at the Marquette University School of Law
I applied for the Barry Flinchbaugh Food and Agricultural Policy fellowship as a young, eager junior with very little experience in realm of Agriculture. Although the K-State Agricultural Economics program provided me with a great educational foundation, because I had grown up in the KC Metro, I lacked an appreciation of the importance of the food and agriculture industry. Not only did the fellowship help me develop important professional skills, but it also gave me an understanding of the significance of food and agricultural policy. Through engaging with constituents, stakeholders, and policy makers I developed both an appreciation of the importance of the industry and a real passion for helping people in the industry. After graduating from Kansas State University in 2023, I am currently as a J.D candidate at the Marquette University School of Law where I hope to continue one day advocating for food and agriculture.
